photo Editing

Adobe Photoshop - Depending on the image I like to sharpen the image and reduce luminance for a softer and feathered image, great for cloud edits or any kind of noisy image. I also like to dehaze an image to make it look more dramatic in color, shades and bright areas. A grainy edit can make it seem retro. Filters are great when you want to make your image more dramatic and will digitally add effects, my favorite are raindrops, paper for a papery look and grunge for an aesthetically pleasing look .

Snapseed - Although Photoshop is great, it does not have everything and since Google is great with software and photography their app can come more in hand for photo editing. When it comes to filters Snapseed allows you to move around and edit aspects of the filter for a more dramatic look. It has tools like HDR Scape which lets you select a specialty of HRD like nature, people, fine or strong HDR. It even has tools to like Head Pose to correct a persons face. It is essentially a professional and powerful editing tool that can be used on your phone and requires zero skills.

On Device

Top shot- With Top Shot the device takes multiple pictures before and after the shutter button is pressed and it will choose the best photos out of the multiple pictures.

Live hdr+ - One of the main advantages of live HDR+ are being able to control dual exposure manually meaning you can change the brightness AND the darkness of a photo before it is even taken and better yet the way you see the image before pressing the shutter is basically how the image will come out once it is captured.

Super res zoom - Regular digital zoom is basically cropping an image so it looks zoomed in but with this algorithm it uses something called burst photography and multi-frame super resolution which basically is capturing and combining multiple images taken from slightly different positions and can yield resolution equivalent to optical zoom.

Portrait mode - Originally this feature launched with Google Pixel 2 and improved in the Pixel 3, it uses dual pixel auto focus and machine learning to determine depth which in theory the more pictures you take the better it will determine the depth. Thanks to this early development it paired up great with the Pixel 4's dual camera using both the regular lens and the telephoto lens to determine real depth it creates a DSLR bokeh affect.
